Editorial Mission
Our mission is to provide cause-related organizations (nonprofit organizations, foundations, community groups, educational institutions, grassroots movements, etc.) with the skills and tools they need to work effectively with the media. While much of the public relations and marketing work is similar for cause organizations and corporations, the reasons for and the results desired are often significantly different. The recognition of this difference is behind all of the articles in the Journal.
Submission Guidelines
We welcome unsolicited queries from anyone working professionally in: writing, public relations, marketing, communications, and cause organization management (nonprofit organizations, foundations, community groups, educational institutions, grassroots movements, etc.).
- Please consider our editorial mission before submitting unsolicited queries.
- Please do not submit articles that have already run in other publications.
- If we have published a similar article in the last two years, please explain how your version will differ.
- Please double-check all information in an article before final submission (after acceptance).
Although we will try to respond to all queries within three months, provided that a self-addressed, stamped envelope or a valid email address is included in your correspondence, we cannot guarantee a response to any submission.
Compensation
All writers whose original work is published in the Journal will receive a one-year subscription. Our ability to provide an additional honorarium will vary over time and will be discussed with each contributor on an individual basis.
How to Query
Send us a letter or an email proposing your story idea (please limit to one proposal per correspondence). In addition to providing a description of the topic you plan to cover, the query should convey your approach, tone, and style.
Please include biographical information and publication history with your submission. If you have not been published in the Journal before, please send at least two, but no more than four, writing samples with your query (we prefer published material but will accept unpublished as well).
Media Savvy Communications assumes no responsibility for unsolicited queries, manuscripts, or other types of submissions, therefore, do not send anything unsolicited that is irreplaceable.
Please do not query by phone or fax, and choose only one method (postal mail or email) for sending in your submission or query.
Send all submissions and queries to:
